Museo Amano

Preserving Age-old Traditions

Museo Amano is not merely a collection; it stands as a testament to our dedication and commitment to safeguarding the rich alpaca textile tradition. As promoters, curators, and guardians of this legacy, we have collaborated with the Amano Textile Museum to create this exclusive collection, aiming to honour and rejuvenate over 12,000 years of Andean textile history.

Born from a shared vision with the Amano Textile Museum - an institution established by the Japanese entrepreneur Yoshitaro Amano to protect the priceless cultural heritage of Ancient Peru - our Museo Amano collection seamlessly melds the ancient with the contemporary. Drawing inspiration from the remarkable pre-Columbian textiles of cultures such as Chancay, Wari, Mochica, Chimú, Chavín, and Inca, this collection shines in its reinterpretation of sacred iconography, symbols of power, and the intimate relationship these cultures had with nature. All of this is encapsulated in fabric of the utmost quality, where baby alpaca and silk intertwine harmoniously.

The delicacy and sophistication of these stoles lie in their design and the selection of vibrant and lively colours, conveying the passion and essence of a millennia-old tradition. It is a vivid reflection of trends that are simultaneously light, fresh, and deeply cultural.

Choosing an item from the Museo Amano collection, you not only wrap yourself in the warmth of baby alpaca and silk but also embark on a journey through time, connecting with the beliefs, tales, and traditions of the ancient Andes.

Our purpose goes beyond fashion. We strive to keep our culture alive and pertinent, bringing the excellence and richness of age-old textiles into the contemporary world. Each stole from the Museo Amano collection isn't just an item of clothing; it's a piece of history, an expression of art, and a tribute to the textile tradition we have sworn to preserve.
